Colorado Design Inspiration
Hi all! I'm Meg, Liz's assistant at Surf Road. I recently had the privilege of traveling to Colorado to do some hiking, eating, general exploring etc. While I was there I was hit with inspiration from all angles and it feels fitting to talk about that in regards to design. Mostly the natural environment lended color and texture inspo but there were a few spots that were too cute not to photograph!
So here goes it - my photo dump and vacation rambling.
The first two days were absolutely filled with stimulation.
From the wine wall and elegant wallpaper at Frasca Food & Wine, to the curated merch displays at Inspyre Boutique I was blown away...like a kid in a candy store with too much to look at! The wallpaper at Frasca paired with the simple furniture and clean, sleek glass and plateware was a perfect juxtaposition and really allowed for the wallpaper to shine.
I was also very into the design of my hotel lobby at the Grand Hyatt Denver. The layered lighting juxtaposing the two tiered fireplace created such a sense of depth and warmth, I could have been happy just staying in the hotel. It inspired me to play with repetitive shapes in a space to create a sense vastness and simultaneously comfort.
Coffee at The Wild was a dream. I had a hard time ordering my coffee (which was eventually DELICIOUS) because i walked in and b-lined it to the custom bench seating and started snapping pics. The table tops, the fun chairs, the benches, the artwork chosen, even the mugs are all perfect perfect perfect for the space.
But nature. Nature is what stole the show.
The texture of the cactus against the red sand is fierce and captivating.
The green pops so much against the red and black stone, and the rocks...are you kidding me? I want to design an entire home based on just the colors found in these rocks. All in all I give CO a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend not only visiting but taking in the visual gifts it offers and turning that into inspiration for whatever field of creativity makes sense to you!
