Surf Road Paint Color Round Up

design, designer, paint, paint colors, choices, lifestyle, lifestyle blog

Paint is soooo soooo tricky. You pick a color and love it for a year but eventually need a change. The blue you saw in a magazine doesn’t quite match your options in store. Light can fade the color on a sun facing wall, etc. etc. etc.

But paint is also so fun. You never have to commit to an entire room you can paint an accent wall. you can paint over paint as many times as you like. Go with a subtle color or something bold. Seriously have fun with it! But of course as I’m typing this I am aware that with so many choices picking a paint color can be overwhelming.

So just to help get the ball rolling I’m going to share some Surf Road favorites with you all and you can take it from there! These are all sherwin williams colors which can be purchased in most Maine hardware stores as well as ordered online.

RED

This lovely muted red tone is called Roycroft Rose. It would be perfect for a young kiddos room with some fun patterned bedding, a sun room full of lively plants, or an accent wall in a bathroom.
Flower Pot is another stunning color. This reminds me of my Nana’s warm living room growing up with tinned ceiling and bold white furniture. This color could really lend itself to any room that you want to feel warm and inviting.

ORANGE

Cool Beige could really be your perfect warm toned neutral for so many projects. This cappuccino foam color works for cabinetry, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom walls.
I am so so so into neighborly peach! I need a cute cottage to feature this color in, what a stunning option to juxtapose some rich greens or gold/brass features.

YELLOW

Yellows can be especially hard. There is a fine line between a color being too yellow and not really yellow at all. If you are choosing a color in the yellow family really embrace that choice.

For a muted / neutral option we’ve got oyster bar. It’s simple, not going to clash with anything and can apply itself to plenty of spaces.
Now for BOLD: Auric. I love a bright yellow front door but it’s also fun to bring this color in through furniture, an accent wall, or even a ceiling.

GREEN

Pewter Green is a big SR favorite. This is one of the color options for the cabinetry in the Saddleback Mountain A-frames project!
Another lovely green option is rare gray, this would make for a fantastic interior or exterior paint choice.

BLUE

As Sherwin Williams puts it “Make any room feel bigger with this crisp, lofty white. A blue-gray undertone gives this hue a pleasant coolness.” Olympus White is representing muted blue.
Inkwell is our bold blue, and the color used for the walls of the pub project – soon to be revealed!

PURPLE

Purple isn’t really ever the purple we first think of is it? Purple is not grape soda or barney, it is however lovely in the shade of Gris Morado.
If you’re looking to lean into the purple a bit more but not fully commit to plum, Vesper Violet is a great option for you.

We made it through the rainbow! I hope this will be helpful for you all when picking your next paint color, but if you need further assistance definitely reach out!
