follower request: i have a 'creative black tie' event coming up, and i don't know where to start!

I was recently asked this question by a follower: "Hi, Need fashion advice! Just confirmed attendance at a 'Creative Black Tie' event on Wall Street late April and need a trendy gown...I'm reluctant to Rent the Runway for this one because I don't want to be noticed as wearing a rental. Any advice on where to start?"

I was so excited to get this question because, obviously I love fashion, but as an interior designer I don't get to blog about it that much! Creative Black Tie is also my FAVORITE dress code, because it was the dress code at our wedding! We got married in a warehouse building that no longer exists on Commercial Street in downtown Portland in the middle of a snow storm in January!

Aaaannnyyyways! I digress. I told this follower to start at Revolve and to make her way to Reformation from there. As wedding season approaches I feel like maybe this would be a good time to round up some of the dresses I found when looking for this follower, and provide a few options at multiple budgets!
