2023 Fall Market Home Decor Trends You Need to Know!

This past October I had the pleasure of joining a fellow Maine designer, Vanessa Helmick of Fiore Interiors, at the High Point Fall Market in High Point, North Carolina. I have been intimidated by attending this Market the last 2 years, and was SO thankful that Vanessa volunteered to take me under her wing. Over the course of 2 days we scoured vendors and showrooms for the latest trends in home decor, and all the vendors who would give us (and therefore our clients!) the best deals ever on high quality, beautiful home furnishings.

The Trends for 2024

As we power-walked the streets and showrooms of High Point, I noticed 3 major trends cropping up over and over again.

The first was teddy-bear everything. From pillows to sofas, people are loving the uber soft and cozies for home. This trend goes beyond Boucle, though Boucle isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and delves into sherpa textures in neutral colors to create the coziest of homes for our clients. If you're intimidated by the sherpa sofa, we get it, that's a big investment for a trend, try dipping your toes with this amazing sherpa round pillow or even an accent chair!

Next, as we walked through Visual Comfort and Hudson Valley Lighting Group (and took a tequila shot with an Insta influencer!), we were ooohing and ahhhing at all of the gorgeous Alabaster light fixtures. These can cost you a pretty penny, but let me tell you when you see them in person they are magnificent and if you can, you should.

If you're not ready for this type of investment, we love little decorative accents in this gorgeous material like this bowl or this candle pillar! Looking for a statement but don't want to make it permanent? We love this alabaster table lamp!

Finally, while natural materials were all around us, we were particularly drawn to all the wovens! This woven texture fits in so perfectly with our Maine coastal aesthetic desired by so many of our clients, and is a perfect, timeless neutral for any home.
