Surf Road Reveal: Project No. 15

I seriously have the best clients. I seem to fall in love with each and every one of them, and these lovely humans are no exception. It makes working with them amazing, but ending a project really sad!! I have been working with Lisa and Joe for almost a year on their home renovation project, and have gotten to know them pretty well over that time! Lisa even gave me the absolute HONOR of snuggling her newborn baby a couple of weeks ago, and if you know me, you know how much I love babies, so this was really special.

Lisa and Joe recently moved from New York to their forever home in southern Maine. Their apartment furniture looked tiny and out of place amongst the 9' ceilings, and we replaced it all! We also converted the back deck into interior space for Lisa's office, and shrunk (and redesigned) Joe's office to accommodate a 2nd powder room for the first floor. The biggest challenge was the cherry red floors, as refinishing was not an option. Not only did we want to cover as much as possible with area rugs, we had to decide what to do for flooring in Lisa's new office. We elected to use polished concrete, and created symmetry throughout the house by incorporating the cement in other rooms like the sink in the powder bath and the planter for the new Fiddle Leaf Fig in the living room.

The best part about working on Lisa and Joe's project was that Lisa has really modern taste, and loves black! As a designer in southern Maine, I can tell you that this is really rare, and it allowed me to flex my creative muscles and really do something out of the box with the design. I am absolutely OBSESSED with the outcome, and I know the family is very excited about their new space as well. Check out all the before images and keep scrolling for the final reveal!
