May Studio Recap and Favorite Links
Many people don’t realize how much time it can take to complete a renovation project. It was over a year ago this month that we started the Surf Road Project No. 31, and we JUST wrapped in the last 2 weeks of May. We learned a lot of lessons throughout the lifetime of this project, and have even made studio changes to the way we do billing and correspondence as a result!
Some important lessons we learned:
Always start a project with a concrete budget in mind
Keep impeccable records of communication, expectations for both parties, and project scope
Hire good people
The third one honestly makes a heck of a difference, because if you have the right team in place, all else can be overcome. Thankfully we had an amazing team in place, and the result for this Primary Bathroom Project was beautiful. We can’t wait to share it with you later next month! (P.S.- want an early sneak peek at project reveals? Sign up for our newsletter here, subscribers always see them first!).
In addition to finishing out this project, we also got started on several new projects, all of which are rather large in scope! Follow along with all of our projects in real time via our Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/surfroadinteriors/
On a personal note, we enjoyed our first full month with Daisy, I turned 40! and had an epic birthday party to boot, and went to many a spring sporting events for the kids. All in all we are busy bees as usual, but still having the time of our lives doing it :)
