What to do with your tree once the fun is over? Give it back to nature!

If you're wondering what to do with that tree that just keeps shedding needles everywhere, there are options other than a dumpster. Trees are such a vital part of our ecosystem and it would be a shame to cut them down just to throw them away! Saco River Wildlife Center is a fantastic place to discard your temporary in home forest friend.

"Saco River Wildlife Center is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide rehabilitative care to Maine’s ill, injured, or orphaned wildlife and to promote compassion and awareness through educational resources and programs." - Website

What could be better than sending that tree back to nature to support the rehabilitation of out local wildlife.

Many of our traditions around the Holidays feel wasteful and that can take a toll on our spirits. This is a small way of supporting sustainable practices and it benefits an organization that is really really rad.

If you don't have a tree or want to make the drive but are interested in WRWC and supporting them, They're also running a virtual fundraiser currently and always accept donations

Follow them on instagram to see all the cute little animals & if you don't plan to do this for your tree look into other donation options near you rather than just throwing it away!
