Surf Road Reveal: Furnishing a Bonus Room for all ages

A blank canvas to start from

The build-out on this bonus room project had already been completed when we were hired on to furnish and complete the room. The task? A place where the family could come together to watch a movie, where the kids could bounce around and host sleepovers, and where out-of-town guests could crash when they were in town. So, this multi-functional room had to be both kid-friendy and beautiful. It had to sleep a lot of heads, but also allow space for movie watching and rough-housing.  As a parent of two young kids myself, this type of task is right in my wheelhouse! I know how kids play (loud and destructive), I know how they eat popcorn on the sofa (as messy as possible), and I know how they sleep (lightly). I also know beauty, and comfort, and how to make a house feel like a home. All of this came together in the form of soft edges, performance fabric, black out curtains, and luxurious bedding. I (and the clients!) am so happy with how it came out.
