Trend Alert: dusty blue

We have a little running joke at Surf Road that all of our clients want blue rooms. Living by the ocean in southern Maine this isn't surprising, but this trend transcends ocean-side properties and even homes! We are seeing this perfect shade of dusty blue EVERYWHERE right now. From homes across the country and even in the clothes we are loving!

I can't tell you how many times I have been shown this photo in Pinterest by a client, and worked to match it in their home. Paint colors often look very different, depending on the light in a room, and oftentimes even if you know the exact color it may not look the same in your home!

Although I am not always one to follow trends, I’m on board with this one. I’m loving these tones and utilizing them in many of our current projects. 

Jumping on the trend in my own home, I recently painted Lennon’s room in a gorgeous dusty blue hue called November Skies by Benjamin Moore. With how often kiddos change their style this feels like a safe bet to transition through the elementary - middle school phases.
